Yeo Meow Siang, Melissa
Age: 37 After losing her sight at age 35 due to retinal detachment, Melissa learnt that employment opportunities for people with disabilities are limited. A major in business administration, Melissa is a veteran in the area of human resource management.
Currently working as a senior business excellence executive, she feels that working as a part-time guide has enabled her to re-acquire her confidence and enhance her presentation and communication skills. DiD also provides her a platform to observe, explore and gain insight to the social service sector.
At present, Melissa is also pursuing a Master of Social Science in Professional Counselling with Swinburne University, Australia. She hopes that through her career and further education, she is able to redefine her purpose in life and work towards the goal of helping others to help themselves. |
